If your winter stays above about 14°F, the Premium is the one — it is the classic quilted shell with an inner pocket. Below that, or if you are outside for long stretches, take one of the faux fur versions: they are rated to 5°F. Faux Fur Collar gives you a detachable hood and a removable collar so you can dress it up or down; Faux Fur Lined adds sherpa lining and is the warmest of the four. Basic is $69.95, Premium $79.95, Faux Fur Collar $89.95 and Faux Fur Lined $99.95 — every version is the same coat underneath, so you are only paying for the warmth you actually need.

No. Both fur versions use faux fur, and on the Faux Fur Collar version the collar unclips entirely.
